Richmond Hill Vestibular Rehabilitation

vestibular rehabilitationVestibular rehabilitation is a fairly new approach in physiotherapy treatment that is established for people who have vestibular disorders and are suffering from Dizziness, Vertigo, or complain of Balance problems. Vestibular rehabilitation is an exercise-based program to alleviate the symptoms of vestibular dysfunctions such as Motion sensitivity (where quick movements of the head causes dizziness), and problems with gaze stability, or positional vertigo.

Our company is affiliated with a chain of clinics called the “Hearing and Balance Center”, with locations across the GTA. Our clients will be assessed by ENT specialist and will be tested by Audiologist prior to be seen by physiotherapist in order to determine the possible cause of his/her complaint. Then after, a thorough assessment will be performed by our physiotherapist and a treatment plan will be proposed.

Our treatments include:

  • Balance retraining exercises
  • Specific vestibular exercises (adaptation and habituation exercises)
  • Supervised therapy session to monitor progress and continually challenge the vestibular, visual and balance systems

Important Note

It is recommended that you have a referral from your family physician for ENT in order to start with our program. Please contact our office for more information.
