Driving in an inappropriate position may cause neck, back and shoulder pain. To best ensure comfort and prevent pain, it is best to consider the following recommendations:
- Make sure that the distance from the seat to the steering wheel is tailored to your body. You should be able to sit deep in the seat and still have your feet reach the pedals. Your thigh should be completely rested of the cushion of the seat.
- The back rest of the seat should be slightly declined. This results in better support of your back and even distribution of your body weight.
- Your head rest should be adjusted to support your head and neck. Tilt the head rest slightly forward, so your head can be comfortably rested while driving. This is critical not only for comfort, but to also prevent injury to your neck, in the case of accidents.
- Make sure the height of the seat is adjusted to your body.
- It is not recommended to drive continuously for long hours. However, if driving for a prolonged period of time, it is recomended to pull over once an hour and stretch out.
